Fly Me to the Moon

Description

I went out to shoot the full moon in January 2020 when it was -28 degrees and a windchill factor of -34. It was brutal. I saw F-18’s flying around the area and prayed one would fly across the moon. The bone-chilling cold froze the tripod to where it would not cooperate and I was forced to go handheld - which, with a large zoom lens is way less than perfect. I came away with extremely cold digits and perhaps a few blue words as I cranked the heat in the van and tried to unthaw. I despaired of having got anything worthy and was sure I had missed the F-18’s altogether. The frozen fingers were worth it when I realized I had at least got one!
